How We Reached 1 Million+ People for a Sensitive Brand With Just $60
Most small and medium businesses believe reach costs money. More ads, bigger budgets, more boosting. Our work with MOODS Bangladesh shows a different path: over 1 million people reached in three months, for a total ad spend of just $60. Here's what happened, and what any SME owner can take from it.
The challenge: selling where you can't "sell"
MOODS sits in a sensitive category. People rarely talk about it openly, and direct, pushy advertising tends to backfire. The usual FMCG playbook (show the product, show the price, repeat) doesn't work well here.
So at Arka Creative Services, we set a different goal: win attention first. Stop the scroll, stay culturally relevant, and earn a smile, so the brand becomes part of everyday conversation.
What we did
- Reels first. Over three months, from January to March 2026, we built the content for short-form video, where new audiences discover brands. In total, we published just 12 posts, 6 of them Reels.
- Funny, not salesy. Every piece was built to do two things: stop the scroll and make people smile. Humour made a sensitive topic feel light and approachable, instead of awkward.
- Consistency over one big hit. We posted on a steady schedule, about one post a week and a Reel every two weeks, instead of betting on one viral video.
- A tiny budget. The total ad spend across all three months was $60, about $20 a month. The content did the heavy lifting, not the money.
The results
- Total reach / engagement
- 1,000,000+
- Reels views
- 500,000+
- 3-second+ views
- 160,000+
- Total watch time
- Almost 20 days
- Views from non-followers
- 99%+
- Views from Reels
- 91.9%
- Posts published
- 12 (6 Reels)
- Total ad spend
- $60
Just as important as the size: the views came in several spikes across the timeline, not one lucky viral moment. That means the approach is repeatable.
4 lessons for SME owners
- 1
Attention comes before sales.
If your product needs trust, don't open with a sales pitch. Earn attention first. People buy from brands they already recognise.
- 2
Short video reaches people who don't know you yet, cheaply.
More than 99% of these views came from people who didn't follow the page. Reels alone brought in 500,000+ views, on a total spend of $60.
- 3
Consistency beats one viral hit.
Multiple spikes came from posting steadily: about one post a week, with only 6 Reels in three months. You don't need luck or a big team. You need a rhythm you can keep up.

In sensitive categories, normalise the conversation.
Make the topic feel normal and human, and the brand becomes the one people remember when it's time to buy.
What comes next: from attention to recall
Attention is step one. The next step is recall: making sure that when the moment of purchase comes, MOODS is the brand people think of first. Because when people are ready to buy, the brand that stays in their head wins.
